Some families may prefer a nanny that is Ofsted registered or willing to apply on acceptance of the job.  Or they may require a nanny to be registered in order to recieve Child Care Vouchers.

The process can take some time and requires filling in an application form as a ‘Home Childcarer’.  You will also need Public Liability Insurance and a valid paediatric first aid certificate.

More information can be found on the Ofsted website.

The Costs:

  • Application fee – £103 (includes CRB check)
  • Public Liability Insurance – ranges between £70 – £90
  • 12 hour Paediatric First Aid – approx £120 (unless the nanny already holds a valid certificate)
  • ICP Course – approx £220 (if the nanny requires childcare training this should be verified with OFSTED).
